Free downloadable walking tour

PHA (Vic) is the professional association for historians in Victoria.  Our members research and present history in many diverse ways, and some of them have contributed their expertise to bring this free downloadable walking tour to the public during Victoria’s History Week.

This self-guided walk offers a glimpse into Melbourne’s past for the whole family to enjoy, with a focus on historic sites around the CBD that will capture the interest of children and adults alike.  To access and print copies of the guided walk and map, simply click on the links below. There is an interactive version of the tour for you to use on your tablet or smartphone, as well as a print-friendly version.

The tour begins at Flinders Street Station and ends in the beautiful surrounds of the Fitzroy Gardens, so you may want to bring along a picnic! In total, the tour will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete – leaving plenty of time to pause and enjoy glimpses of Melbourne’s past along the way.

Further information about each of the sites featured in the tour can be accessed by following links contained within the tour brochure. For those with a smartphone, there are also QR (Quick Response) Codes that can be scanned to take you to websites offering further information. Apps for reading QR codes can be downloaded free of charge. For more information see:
