Public Lecture at the
Shrine of Remembrance
Textile Conservation
Workshop presented by Bronwyn Cosgrove
Flags, uniforms, and
mementoes such as handkerchiefs and embroidered
postcards all serve as important reminders of service,
sacrifice and separation from loved ones in times of
war. Join conservator Bronwyn Cosgrove to learn about
the care and preservation of textiles. Examples will be
provided and guests are invited to bring along their own
collection items for assessment. A curator’s tour of the
exhibition Threads of Connection: Embroidery and
Textiles from the First World War to the Present
will follow this workshop.
